AFI Fest 2026 Announces Diverse Film Selection

The American Film Institute has revealed the comprehensive program for its 2026 festival, proudly presented by Canva. This landmark 40th edition, set to unfold in Hollywood from October 21st to 25th, promises a rich tapestry of cinematic experiences. Attendees can anticipate a diverse selection of 157 films, including five high-profile red-carpet premieres, twelve exclusive special screenings, thirteen luminary showcases, eighteen innovative discovery titles, sixteen world cinema features, and seventeen compelling documentaries, among other exciting presentations.

Highlighting the festival’s prestigious lineup, the animated feature “Wildwood” is slated to open the event with its U.S. premiere, while the biographical drama “Being Heumann” will bring the festival to a close. Other eagerly awaited red-carpet events include the screenings of “I Play Rocky,” “The Mosquito Bowl,” and “Ray Gunn,” further enriching the festival’s diverse offerings.
