BFI London Film Festival Industry Forum Unveils Comprehensive Program

The British Film Institute (BFI) London Film Festival has officially unveiled the complete schedule for its highly anticipated Industry Forum. This year's forum promises an engaging series of discussions and interviews, featuring prominent figures from the global film industry, aiming to provide valuable insights and networking opportunities for attendees.

A key attraction of the forum is the addition of several high-profile sessions. Director Danny Boyle is set to participate in a live interview for Matt Belloni’s “The Town” podcast, offering a deep dive into his creative process. Also joining the lineup is acclaimed costume designer PC Williams, who will share the stage with director Akinola Davies Jr., her collaborator on the film “My Father’s Shadow.” These sessions complement the previously announced Spotlight conversations with producers James Wilson and Pippa Harris, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives on filmmaking.

The Industry Forum will commence on October 8 with a panel focusing on the current landscape of UK cinemas, featuring programmers such as Ben Lyndon from Curzon, Carol McKay from Picturehouse, and Madeleine Mullett from BFI Imax. This discussion will assess the industry's performance following a remarkably successful spring-summer season. Later, on October 12, an international panel of producers including lan Maher, Adrià Monés, Dyveke Bjørkly Graver, and Rodrigo Teixeira will explore the complexities of international co-productions, funding mechanisms, and the unique creative challenges involved in cross-border collaborations. Additionally, the forum will host panels on utilizing archives for storytelling, with experts like Theo Rollason, Nanette Burstein, Rafael Guendelman, and Simon McCallum, and a session dedicated to spotlighting promising new screenwriting voices, led by Take Three program director Holly Daniel.

Kristy Matheson, director of the BFI London Film Festival, emphasized the forum's mission to unite an exceptional group of filmmakers and industry leaders from both the UK and around the world.
