Luca Guadagnino's 'Artificial' to Debut at New York and London Film Festivals

Luca Guadagnino's upcoming feature film, 'Artificial,' focusing on the dramatic events surrounding Sam Altman's temporary departure and subsequent return as the CEO of OpenAI, is poised for its global premiere. The cinematic piece will first be showcased at the prestigious New York Film Festival on October 5th. This decision was made shortly after Amazon announced a multi-year strategic partnership with OpenAI, involving a substantial $50 billion investment to boost OpenAI's use of Amazon Web Services. Amazon stated that the film would be "better served" by a different distributor. Following this, Neon acquired the distribution rights, reportedly after Netflix, A24, and Focus Features passed on the opportunity, with plans for a late-year release to qualify for the Academy Awards.
