Skydance Unveils Finance Leadership Following Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery Integration

In the wake of its significant merger with Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery, Skydance Corp. has officially unveiled its newly appointed finance leadership team. This strategic announcement, led by Chief Financial Officer Dennis Cinelli, marks a crucial step in integrating the financial operations of the newly formed entertainment giant. The restructuring is designed to optimize efficiency and drive the company towards its ambitious goal of achieving an estimated $6 billion in annual cost reductions, reflecting a proactive approach to financial management within the expanded enterprise.

David Ellison, alongside Skydance co-CEO Ynon Kreiz, had previously communicated the broader senior leadership structure for the combined entity just before the official closure of the merger. Since then, various departments and corporate divisions have been diligently assembling their new executive teams. The integrated Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery is poised to generate an impressive annual revenue approaching $70 billion on a pro-forma basis, though it also carries a net debt of approximately $80 billion, underscoring the importance of robust financial stewardship.

On Wednesday morning, Dennis Cinelli, who previously served as Paramount Skydance’s finance chief, distributed an internal memorandum to employees. The memo detailed the new finance leadership team, emphasizing their collective experience and judgment as critical assets for building an exceptional organization. Cinelli expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with this team, highlighting their potential to elevate the finance department's impact within the company. He also acknowledged the extraordinary efforts of all employees who facilitated the acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, recognizing their essential contributions to the deal's success.

Cinelli also extended appreciation to the legacy Warner Bros. Discovery finance team for their unwavering discipline in maintaining business performance during a period of uncertainty. He reiterated David Ellison's vision for Skydance to emerge as a leading next-generation media and entertainment company, stressing that this aspiration hinges on the finance team operating at the highest level and actively contributing to business growth. He underlined that every strategic decision, technological investment, partnership agreement, and external financial report relies on the quality of their work.

The new financial leadership structure, as outlined by Cinelli, is a blend of talent from both legacy organizations, ensuring that the right individuals are in key positions. Key corporate leaders appointed include Kevin Creighton as EVP of Corporate Finance & Treasury, Todd Davis as EVP and Head of Global Tax, Kathy Gill-Charest as EVP, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer, Sandy Pundmann as EVP & Chief Audit Risk Officer, and Simon Robinson as EVP & Chief Business Transformation Officer. Additionally, Fraser Woodford, EVP of Treasury at Warner Bros. Discovery, will assist in the transition until March 2027.

The memo also detailed the Business Unit CFOs, who will dual-report to Cinelli and their respective unit heads. These appointments include Mark Badagliacca for Film, Patrick Cavanaugh for Distribution, Nitin Chawla for Global Content Sales, Adam Cohn for CNN, Eric Gray for TV Studios, Christine Hong for Advertising and Revenue Operations, Kedar Nadkarni for Consumer Products and Publishing, Ben Paul for Games & Experiences, Josh Walker for Streaming, and Liz Wright for the Global Television Networks business. Furthermore, Bryon Rubin will transition from CFO of TV Media to COO of Skydance Television, indicating a strategic realignment of talent.

Cinelli concluded his message by acknowledging the forthcoming challenges of integrating businesses and continuously striving for excellence. He conveyed immense confidence in his team, emphasizing that their work holds significant importance, not only in what they achieve but also in how they achieve it. He also outlined six core principles that will guide the finance organization, including mastering foundational tasks, developing strategic plans, fostering deep partnerships, making data-driven decisions with AI, effectively communicating financial narratives, and cultivating top financial talent within the company.
