GTA 6 Misses Out on Golden Joystick Award, Breaks Grand Slam Dream

Only two games have ever achieved this feat: Baldur's Gate 3 in 2023 and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 in the preceding year. Despite this, if GTA 6 secures wins at the remaining four major awards, it could still technically complete the set by winning a future Golden Joystick Award, similar to how Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim achieved this in 2011/2012.

This upcoming awards season presents an opportunity for Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 6 to potentially earn its first Game of the Year title since Grand Theft Auto 5's victories in 2013. The Golden Joystick Awards are currently accepting votes across most categories, with the Ultimate Game of the Year poll opening later in October.
